No
Downers Campaign
The
No Downers Campaign seeks to prevent the suffering of downed animals
(animals too sick even to stand) through public education and by enacting
laws and policies to prevent the marketing and slaughter of these animals.
Proposed federal and state laws, if enacted, would prevent "downers"
from being dragged and pushed to slaughter with chains and forklifts,
or left slowly to die without food or water. Activists involved with the
No Downers Campaign speak up for the downed animals suffering across
the country and refuse to allow the brutalization of downed animals to
be considered "normal agricultural practice". Activists in all
areas of the country are needed to educate citizens and work to gain legal
protection for downed animals. For more information about the No Downers
Campaign and how you can help, visit nodowners.org.
