Country Cabin

Make your stay extra-special by staying in our cozy Country Cabin. May through October, our Cabin is available for you and your family (including four-legged friends)!

Wake up to crowing roosters on our beautiful 300-acre sanctuary nestled in the eastern foothills of the coastal mountain range near Orland, California. During your stay, you are welcome to browse our visitor center, take a relaxing stroll around the sanctuary to see our animals grazing in the pastures, and go on a guided tour. We are a short drive from beautiful nature areas, bike trails and antique shops, as well as Black Butte Lake, with hiking trails, swimming and picnic areas.

Farm Sanctuary's Country Cabin is open May 1 through October 31, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights. The cabin is closed Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. Early reservations are always recommended. Reservations are required and payable in advance by Visa or MasterCard.

Check-In/Check-Out
Guests may check in any time after 3 p.m. Check-out time is noon.

Cabin Information
The Country Cabin features one queen-sized bed with a memory foam mattress, one full-sized hide-a-bed sofa, kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator, and handicapped-accessible bathroom facilities. The Cabin, the sanctuary and the Visitor Center are smoke-free environments. Smoking is permitted only in your vehicle.

Farm Tour Information
All Country Cabin guests receive a complimentary sanctuary tour. Your tour will be held at 10 a.m. the day after you arrive. Guests staying on Saturdays are also welcome to join a tour later in the day. These tours are held every hour, on the hour, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Visitor Center
Guests are welcome to browse the Visitor Center to learn about farm animal issues and what you can do to help stop "food animal" abuses. The gift shop offers an excellent selection of books on vegan cooking and animal rights, cruelty-free gifts, and vegan snacks. The Visitor Center and gift shop is open to cabin guests directly after their complimentary tour and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

Companion Animals
Companion animals are always welcome, but for their safety, as well as that of the Sanctuary residents, we must request your companion be on a leash at all times. Companion animals are not permitted near animal housing barns at any time. Feel free to walk your companion animals in the field between the Cabin and Newville Road, or across the street at Black Butte Lake. Please let us know about your companion animals when you make your reservation.

Vegan Policy
Out of respect for the rescued animals at Farm Sanctuary we do require all food on the premises to be vegan (no meat, dairy, eggs, or animal by-products). If you need further information about a vegan diet, please let us know. We would be happy to assist you.

Reservations & Cancellations
Because of our unique location and limited availability, we have set policies to conform to these special circumstances. Reservations must be paid in full to confirm your cabin. If cancellation occurs at least 30 days prior to reservation, a 50 percent refund will be issued; otherwise, no refund will be given. Cancellations are also non-transferable. When a cancellation occurs, the payment will be used as a general donation for our programs, and the gift is tax-deductible.

Reservations will be taken at our New York office. Reservations are not confirmed until you have spoken with a Farm Sanctuary representative.

For reservations, call 607-583-2225 ext 230. You may also e-mail info@farmsanctuary.org to check general availability. Please mention that you are interested in our Orland location.
