Looking for the perfect place to hold your wedding or event? Have it at our New York shelter and celebrate your special day with the rescued animals at Farm Sanctuary. From May through October, you and your guests can enjoy the views across our 175-acre farm and get to know some of the chickens, pigs, cows, and other animals on a tour of the shelter. Below you will find more details to help you plan for your event.

Facilities
Our People Barn may be used for the ceremony and reception. Tables and chairs for 150 people fit comfortably; seating for 200 will fit but will be close together. Please note that the People Barn is also used for educational purposes as part of our visitor program. While the People Barn can be reserved for a short time during tour hours, it is best to schedule use of the People Barn outside of these hours. During May, September, and October, tours are held Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. In June, July, and August, tours are held Wednesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The People Barn may be decorated, providing the decorations do not interfere with the tours. If the weather allows, there is plenty of space to set up outdoors with views of the farm and the surrounding hills.

Weather
Below is a list of average temperatures for the months of May through October. Keep in mind, however, that the People Barn is not winterized and the weather in upstate New York can be a bit unpredictable.

Suggested Minimum Donation
50 people and under: $1000
51-100 people: $1750
Over 100 people: $2500

Tours
Farm Sanctuary would be happy to provide a tour of our shelter and rescued animal residents to your guests.

Mementos
If you are interested in having mementos from the gift store ordered especially for your wedding, we may be able to give you a 20% discount, depending on the quantity ordered.

Food
Out of respect for the animals, all food served at Farm Sanctuary must be vegan. Farm Sanctuary does not have catering facilities. Therefore, if you are planning a dinner, you will need to arrange catering services separately. Please see our list of vegan caterers in the area.

Entertainment
There are a number of options to choose from if you would like music for your ceremony and reception. Please see our list of local DJ’s and bands.

Party Rentals
Farm Sanctuary supplies the facility only. Please contact a party rental center in the area for tables, chairs, and any other equipment you might need.

Accommodations
Farm Sanctuary’s Bed & Breakfast cabins may be available for overnight guests. Each spacious cabin contains two double beds, a dresser, and chairs for relaxing. The price is $85 per cabin per night; there is no charge for additional guests if they are attending the event. Early reservations are always recommended. Deposit
The date will be secured when Farm Sanctuary receives a 25% deposit. The deposit is 100% refundable up to 3 months prior to the reserved date.
