Establishment Outreach

Some of the most powerful entities in any community are the businesses that keep local economies afloat. As a consumer who patronizes many of these businesses, you have the power to impact the decisions local owners and management teams make — decisions that directly affect the lives of farm animals.

You can also use local businesses as educational resources and help benefit farm animals with goods or services they might be willing to donate. Business establishments are powerful and they care about consumer needs and demands. Show them how much you care about farm animals, and urge them to do their part to help those who are suffering.

Reaching Out to Restaurants

  • Ask veg-friendly restaurants and compassionate businesses in your area to display literature to raise awareness about farm animal issues. Order literature from Farm Sanctuary.
  • Encourage restaurants in your area to offer more vegan options on their menu by having them sign the Veg for Life Pledge. Farm Sanctuary's Veg for Life Campaign provides an array of resources at vegforlife.org.
  • Lend your support to suffering dairy cows by approaching local coffee shops and cafés that do not offer soymilk. From corner cafés to corporate chains, let establishments know that dairy-free options are in demand, and that offering soymilk or other non-dairy options is good for health and business! As a patron, you are in the best position to encourage restaurant owners to offer dairy-free options. Give owners or managers a “Truth Behind Dairy” brochure, and talk with them about making this healthy and cruelty-free option available for their conscientious customers.
  • Join Farm Sanctuary's No Foie Gras Campaign. Leave comment cards when you dine at restaurants serving these menu items. Boycott those restaurants that continue to serve these cruel delicacies.

Other Establishment Outreach Ideas

  • Consider setting up a Farm Sanctuary collection can at a business in your community.
