Ohio Farm Animals Still Need Your Help: Urge Ohio Officials to Ban Cruel Factory Farming Practices Now!
Thanks to dedicated Farm Sanctuary members and other volunteers in Ohio, more than 500,000 citizens signed a petition aimed at placing an initiative on the statewide ballot to ban cruel factory farming practices in Ohio. In light of this enormous support, and shortly before the signatures were submitted, agribusiness came to the table and an agreement was brokered by Ohio’s Governor Strickland to ban and phase out several needless and cruel practices in Ohio.
Clear progress for farm animals in Ohio, the agreement serves as a reminder that when we speak up against cruelty, change is inevitable. The Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board is now preparing to issue regulations on the treatment of farm animals and wants to hear from you. This is a great opportunity to ensure that the provisions of the agreement become a reality as soon as possible.
