Education Event Internship

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Assist with coordination and administrative duties associated with annual Walk for Farm Animals
  • Assist with on site event planning, including volunteer recruitment and securing donations
  • Help ensure accuracy of all communications, including e-mail alerts, website listings and location fliers; extensive proofreading with potential for some writing
  • Track registration and assist with mailing and fulfillment tasks
  • Support Education & Advocacy Department with special projects as needed
  • Staff visitor center and gift store
  • Give educational tours of the sanctuary
  • Maintain visitor center facilities

Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, and the ability to professionally represent Farm Sanctuary on the phone and via e-mail
  • Strong knowledge about animal protection issues, especially farm animal issues
  • Commitment to Farm Sanctuary’s goals and programs
  • Strong work ethic and ability to self-start and succeed independently
  • Comfort working with a range of different individuals
  • Excellent organization and administrative skills
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Commitment to veganism

Specifications:

  • Volunteer commitment of 40 hours per week
  • Three-month commitment preferred
  • Weekend and holiday hours may be required.
  • Shared housing available on sanctuary premises
