Executive Speaking Event Coordination Internship
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage scheduling and calendar of Farm Sanctuary executive’s speaking engagements
- Serve as primary contact for offsite speaking events, including interfacing with other animal protection organizations, student groups, activists, civic organizations, and others
- Review speaking invitations for appropriateness and desirability; make recommendations for acceptance or declination
- Research and propose additional speaking opportunities
- Participate in weekly meetings with Farm Sanctuary staff
- Create detailed event itineraries and make travel arrangements
- Support Education & Advocacy Department with special projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to professionally represent Farm Sanctuary on the phone and via e-mail
- Strong knowledge of animal protection issues, especially farm animal issues
- Commitment to Farm Sanctuary’s goals and programs
- Strong work ethic and ability to self-start and succeed independently
- Comfort working with a range of different organizations
- Excellent organization and administrative skills
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel; Outlook proficiency also preferred
Specifications:
- Must commit to 20 hours per week
- Minimum three month commitment
- Remote, telecommuting position that requires own computer
