Farm Sanctuary Hosts Institute for Humane Education's MOGO Workshop at New York Shelter

Workshop to Focus on Effective Living for Creating the Most Good

Watkins Glen, NY – August 27, 2008 – This Saturday and Sunday, August 30 and 31, Farm Sanctuary, the nation’s leading farm animal protection organization, will host at its Watkins Glen Shelter the MOGO (Most Good) Workshop created and led by the Institute for Humane Education. This inspiring workshop guides people on how to live in accordance with their core values through learning the ways in which their choices, activism, volunteerism, and work can help manifest their vision for a better world. MOGO empowers individuals to find their life’s purpose, gain support, make a positive difference, and pursue joy in this journey.

Part educational workshop, part retreat, MOGO participants learn how to make their everyday decisions and activities the most effective in helping the planet by focusing on doing the most good and least harm. This workshop offers activities demonstrating how to help people, animals, the environment and oneself at the same time, as well as interactive sessions on how to implement change in all aspects of life. Surrounded by like-minded people in a supportive setting, participants will build confidence in taking action to affect positive change. MOGO will help individuals create a personalized action plan for realizing their life’s purpose.

Set on a peaceful farm animal sanctuary in the hills of the beautiful Finger Lakes region, participants have the option of camping on Farm Sanctuary’s scenic grounds. In harmony with the spirit of sustainability at the core of this workshop, the meals provided will be made with local, organic, vegan foods.

“Our MOGO workshop has been extremely successful in empowering individuals to joyfully pursue their life’s mission by making choices everyday to do the most good for the earth and all its inhabitants,” says Amy Morley, MOGO coordinator. “Farm Sanctuary is the perfect setting for this workshop as it is an extremely beautiful and peaceful place symbolic of the ideal world we are all working to create.”

Registration is $195 per person and $80 per student. Through the generosity of an individual donor, The Institute for Humane Education is able to offer a limited number of spots at a reduced registration rate of $75.
