YES! ON PROP 2 CAMPAIGN STATEMENT ON FIELD POLL RESULTS SHOWING 2-TO-1 SUPPORT
FOR STOPPING ANIMAL CRUELTY

SACRAMENTO - The YES! on Prop 2 campaign issued the following statement in reaction to today’s Field Poll results showing that voters favor Prop 2 by a vote of 60% to 27% (available here: http://www.field.com/fieldpollonline/subscribers/Rls2292.pdf).

The YES! on Prop 2 campaign is heartened by the Field Poll results showing Prop 2 ahead by more than 2 to 1 going into the final days of the election. Californians believe that all animals, including those raised for food, deserve humane treatment and it is wrong to confine animals in tiny cages and crates that do not allow them to turn around or fully extend their limbs. No doubt that the out-of-state Big Ag corporations funding the "no" campaign will not relent with their misleading and false ads. But most voters see through their scam and know that Prop 2 is a modest measure to promote the humane treatment of animals that is backed by leading animal welfare, food safety, consumer protection, environmental and religious groups, along with more than 40 California newspapers. Undecided voters should visit YESonProp2.com for more information.

Prop 2 is supported by The Humane Society of the United States, the California Veterinary Medical Association, the Center for Food Safety, the ASPCA, the Consumer Federation of America, the Center for Science in the Public Interest, the United Farm Workers, Farm Sanctuary, the Sierra Club, Cesar Chavez Foundation, the State Humane Association of California, Republican and Democratic elected officials, hundreds of California veterinarians, family farmers, religious leaders, and many others.

Yes on Prop. 2 – Californians for Humane Farms, sponsored by The Humane Society of the US, Farm Sanctuary and other animal protection groups, family farmers, veterinarians and public health professionals. For more information, visit YESonProp2.com.
