Evie Sheep Was Saved From a Fate Her Twins Will Never Face. She Deserves a Special Mother’s Day!

Give Evie sheep a Break!

Your one-time $35 gift in honor of Evie will support the care of our residents as we pamper this rescued mom. In thanks, we’ll send you a certificate showing Liberty enjoying her Mother’s Day “blowout!”

Evie sheep was rescued from a farm where over 200 animals were neglected. Some had already died when help arrived. But out of tragedy came joy, as lambs were soon born at Farm Sanctuary to Evie and other rescued sheep.

Help us as we care for our rescued residents and pamper Evie with a back massage this Mother’s Day!

Sheep are gentle and caring mothers, and although we’re often taught to see them as mindless, they are sentient and emotional animals who form deep bonds and communicate with each other.

When Evie arrived at our New York sanctuary, we nursed her back to health, providing all of the care she was denied before we met her. Our caregivers soon found she was also expecting—and imagine our delight when she gave birth to two happy, healthy, and playful lambs named Jeanne and Margaretta.

These adorable little ones love to play and jump with their friend Samson, who was also born to a mom, Frannie, rescued from the same cruelty case as Evie. Seeing them revel in the freedom they have known from day one melts our hearts.

As a new mom of twins, Evie surely needs a break sometimes!

Honor all moms, mother figures, and nurturers this Mother’s Day:

Your one-time $35 gift to Farm Sanctuary by May 12 will support the care of our rescued residents as we offer Evie her special pampering.

Along with Evie sheep, we’ll offer a special spa day to her fellow farm animal mothers, Liberty cow (a “blowout” brushing), and Mia pig (a mud bath). Can’t decide who to celebrate? Give in honor of two moms – or gift the “full spa day package” of all three for $90.

Thank you for showing love to all moms this Mother’s Day!

  • Rescue date: October 12, 2023
  • Lives at: Farm Sanctuary New York
  • Her Story: Evie sheep gave birth to twins in the safety of Farm Sanctuary, but had she not been rescued, they likely all would have perished. In North Carolina, authorities found over 200 animals severely neglected, resulting in 90 counts of cruelty against the farm’s owner. Some were starving or sick; for others, help had come too late. Working with other organizations, we saved as many lives as we could. As our caregivers nursed Evie back to health, we soon discovered a happy surprise: she was among multiple pregnant sheep in the flock! Thankfully, on February 17, 2024, Evie gave birth to twin lambs named Jeanne and Margaretta – two of four lambs born in our care after we rescued their moms from the same cruel farm. Evie is a gentle, caring mother. We’re so happy she’ll have her family by her side.
