Placement Assistance

Farm Sanctuary’s shelter facilities are currently full; however, we do provide national placement assistance for hundreds of farm animals each year through our Farm Animal Adoption Network (FAAN).  We are pleased to offer the following placement services for farm animals:

1. PLACEMENT E-MAIL ALERT: A bi-weekly placement alert is sent to all members of our Farm Animal Adoption Network (FAAN). All FAAN members have successfully completed Farm Sanctuary’s adoption application process.  Due to the large volume of placement requests we receive, this is a ONE-TIME placement service option.

2. NATIONAL PLACEMENT BOARD: National Placement Board listings are posted on our website for 60 days. If the animal or animals you are seeking placement for do not find homes within 60 days, your placement listing will remain on the board only if room is available. If your animal or animals are placed, please notify Farm Sanctuary at: shelter@farmsanctuary.org so we may make room for other placement board listings.

To help facilitate placement requests, we ask you to complete the PLACEMENT FORM and indicate if you would like to use the Placement E-mail Alert, National Placement Board, or both placement services.

Since Farm Sanctuary placement alerts and board listings may be widely distributed throughout the Web, we strongly encourage you to confirm whether or not potential adopters are members of FAAN before placing your animal or animals with them. Additionally, please ensure that your animal or animals are placed into safe, lifelong homes by screening all adoption inquiries very carefully and personally visiting any prospective homes.  You can verify FAAN membership by calling contacting our placement coordinator in New York at 607-583-2276 ext. 223 or shelter@farmsanctuary.org
