Cornwall

Cornwall and sixteen other tiny ducklings were rescued from a man who decided to close down his small farm. The man was determined to get rid of all of his animals, including his ducks, his chickens and his llama. He said he only kept them for "fun" anyway, and he did not want to care for them anymore. Thankfully, a kind individual learned of the man's plans, and intervened. Knowing the animals deserved a better life, she began searching for safe, loving homes for each of the needy critters.

Eventually, all of the animals rescued from the property found homes. Cornwall and her friends were brought to New York City's Animal Care and Control Center, where they stayed for a short time before being transported to Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary in New York. After being fostered for a week at Woodstock, the ducklings made the journey to Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen. We happily welcomed the fuzzy newcomers to our New York Shelter, and couldn't help but smile as we watched them waddle around and explore their new surroundings.

Here at Farm Sanctuary, Cornwall and her sixteen companions have finally found a home where their worth is recognized and their needs and desires are met. Within the bounds of our fences, safe from the cruelty and apathy of the outside world, they are free to be and do what they want. They have formed unmistakable and lasting bonds with one another, and to this day, stick together like glue. They swim together, they explore in the cool grass together, and they fall asleep in their cozy hutch each night side by side with an easy and enviable assurance that life is good.
