ORLAND, CALIF. – Hearts will melt at the sight of sleepy rescued farm animals preparing for bedtime at Farm Sanctuary’s Twilight Tour this Saturday, July 30, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the organization’s world-renowned shelter in Orland. For more information about this rare evening tour of the sanctuary, which will conclude with beer and wine nightcaps and gourmet “bedtime snacks” under the night sky, please click here. Farm Sanctuary (farmsanctuary.org), the nation’s leading farm animal protection organization, is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary and has been featured on CNN and The Martha Stewart Show, and in Time magazine.
“The Twilight Tour offers visitors a rare peek at a heartwarming sight few people get to see,” says California Shelter Director Leanne Cronquist. “Hundreds of formerly abused and neglected farm animals snuggle up to one another in their barns and drift off to sleep without a care in the world. To watch these highly complex and emotional animals, once treated like unfeeling commodities and deprived of every possible comfort, prepare for bedtime reminds us how something as simple as our everyday choices can make the difference between a peaceful night’s rest and a night of fear and suffering for a farm animal.”
Registration has closed for this all-ages event, but media is invited to attend.
