Corey Feldman loves turkeys!
“Did you know that turkeys are loving, compassionate creatures?” says Corey Feldman. “I learned this when I went to Farm Sanctuary the very first time, 18 years ago.”
Coming to Farm Sanctuary allowed Corey to get to know turkeys in a way he had never before. He learned that they care about each other, many like to be pet, and that these empathetic birds will welcome a new turkey by adopting them into their own flock.
“You can be as compassionate as a turkey, can’t you? I believe you can!” says Corey. “All you have to do is join the Adopt a Turkey program by making a small donation.”
There’s still time to sponsor a rescued turkey this holiday season! Tens of millions of turkeys are killed for Thanksgiving, but you can be part of a kinder holiday tradition.
“You can be a turkey hero, too,” says Corey. Thank you for considering joining him in honoring, not harming, turkeys this year!
Meet the Flock

Serena turkey was not born on a large factory farm—but her scars remind us turkeys on small farms endure painful practices like debeaking, too. Thankfully, a local rescuer saved her and her “sister” Venus, and they spent five years together at Farm Sanctuary. Today, Serena is a snuggly gal but a bold leader of her flock who loves soaking up attention and listening to Taylor Swift. Adopt Serena!

Thelma’s rescuer freed her from meat production, but soon after, wildfires nearly destroyed her new home. Thelma needed a safe place to land––and we welcomed this sweet and sensitive soul with open arms and open hearts. She is kind and cuddly, snuggling up with her friends Serena and Eric at bedtime, listening to music, and following caregivers around until they give her affection. Adopt Thelma!

When Freyja’s former guardian passed away, his wife kept his promise to the animals on their farm. She asked us to make sure they would be safe and loved. Today, Freyja loves foraging with best friends Brunnhilde and Roberto—or lounging in the barn they have all to themselves. She’s nervous around humans but sometimes comes close enough to accept a berry or a gentle scratch. Adopt Freyja!

Ferris would’ve been sold at a feed store, but when an employee asked Second Chance Chickens Microsanctuary to save another bird, he got his chance, too. He lived happily at Farm Sanctuary until he passed this October. He loved to show off his feathers, hang out with best buddy Erol rooster, and get extra snacks. With Adopt a Turkey, we’re telling Ferris’ story to help all turkeys. Adopt Ferris!

Like true besties, Serena and Thelma are more than that. They’re chosen family! These gals are like sisters, and they love to share peaceful moments lounging and sunbathing together. Like all siblings, they get tired of each other at times. “Older sister,” Serena believes her place is at the top of the flock hierarchy—but Thelma has snuggled her way to a place in Serena’s heart. Adopt The Besties!

Each member of our turkey flock has their own personality. Serena is a bold leader. Thelma is always up for a snuggle. Freyja is our shy, thoughtful introvert. Ferris was confident and charming. Despite their differences, they are each a cherished member of our Farm Sanctuary family—and ambassadors for the 46 million turkeys killed each Thanksgiving. Adopt the Flock of Four!
